Inca royalty were transported in litters which were carried on the shoulders of male attendents. These men had been trained to give a smooth ride from a very early age. The emperor usually was seated on a low throne(duba) with a canopy over his head. He normally would have been accompanied by other litters carrying additional Inca hierarchy.
