Mexican Antiquities of Palenque by Giullermo Dupaix

In 1803, King Charles IV appointed Guillermo Dupaix to explore the territories of New Spain and learn about ancient Mayan sites and antiquities. He was accompanied by Mexican cartoonist Jose Luciano Castaneda. In all, there would be three expeditions. They visited Mitla, Monte Alban, and Palenque.
